Meet the Instructors Leading Our Rooftop Wellness Series — Sculpt & Sweat
Shane Whittredge and Caroline Willson are bringing strength, sculpt, and serious energy to the rooftop this July. Get to know the coaches behind our only sunset class of the summer.
Meet the instructors leading our second Rooftop Wellness Series event and learn how fitness, community, and resilience have shaped their journeys. Plus, get a preview of what to expect in class on July 16th!
Leading the workout are two of Boston's most energetic coaches — instructors who bring not just elite training, but real stories of how movement has shaped their own lives. On Thursday, July 16, Shane Whittredge and Caroline Willson will headline Sculpt & Sweat, our only sunset class of the summer, 750 feet above the city.
We caught up with both of them to learn more about their fitness journeys, the communities that have shaped them, and what they're most excited about for July 16th.
MEET SHANE
For Shane, fitness has always been about more than just the physical.
A Boston-based endurance and fitness enthusiast, his journey has taken many forms — from distance running and marathon training to Hyrox competitions, strength training, and group fitness coaching. "Fitness has become much more than just exercise for me," he shares. "It's about building confidence, creating community, and challenging yourself to become a stronger version of yourself." Along the way, he's experienced his own ups and downs, which have made him deeply passionate about helping others find movement that makes them feel accomplished and excited. Today, he channels that energy into every class he teaches at EverybodyFights and Seaport Sweat.
Shane says what makes Boston's fitness scene truly special is its culture.
"My favorite thing about the Boston fitness community is how supportive and welcoming it is. Boston is such an active city, and there's an incredible culture of people pushing themselves and others. From run clubs to group workouts, team races, and events like this, there's always an opportunity to connect with people who share a passion for moving their bodies."
His Class in Three Words
Energizing. Challenging. Fun.
What to Expect in Class
"You can 100% expect a high energy, full body workout that blends strength, cardio, and functional movement. We'll focus on building strength, improving endurance, and moving with intention — all at your own pace. Whether you're new to fitness or a seasoned athlete, the goal is to leave feeling stronger than when you got there… and sweatier!"
MEET CAROLINE
Caroline's path to coaching is one of the most layered in Boston's fitness community — dancer, yogi, physical therapist, and sculpt instructor all in one.
A Jersey girl born and raised, Caroline grew up as a competitive dancer and attended a performing arts high school, where she first discovered hot yoga and fell in love with the practice. "I became a yoga instructor 8 years ago during my freshman year of college while studying dance," she shares. Teaching her university's athletic teams sparked a fascination with injury prevention, performance, and rehabilitation — a path that eventually led her to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Today, she brings all of it together. "I combine my backgrounds in dance, yoga, Pilates, and physical therapy to create classes that are both challenging and intentional."
When she moved from New Jersey to Boston, she didn't know a single person. The fitness community changed that.
"Through the fitness community, I've built an incredible network and met some of my closest friends. It's such a welcoming, supportive community that truly makes Boston feel like home."
Her Class in Three Words
Powerful. Energetic. Inspiring.
What to Expect in Class
"Expect a high-energy, beat-driven workout that combines strength training with core-focused movement and full-body sculpting. Every class is designed to challenge you while keeping you motivated through the music. Most importantly, you'll have fun, leave feeling stronger, and walk away empowered."
